  9. This file provides information for Shareware Distributors, Disk Vendors
  10. and Computer Clubs who wish to distribute the From Scratch 2.10 package.

  20. Distribution Requirements
  21. -------------------------
  22. Individuals who wish to distribute the From Scratch package to friends or
  23. associates may do so in accordance with the restrictions outlined in
  24. LICENSE.DOC.
  25.  
  26. Computer Clubs and User Groups wishing to add the From Scratch package to
  27. their disk library may do so in accordance with the Distribution
  28. Restrictions listed below.
  29.  
  30.    If you would like your Computer Club or User Group to be placed on our
  31.    mailing list for future upgrades to any of our products, please contact
  32.    us for complete details.  Our address, phone number, and CompuServe User
  33.    ID number is listed in DESCRIBE.DOC.

  35. Limited Distribution License:
  36. -----------------------------
  37. As the exclusive copyright holder for From Scratch, Desktop Solutions
  38. authorizes distribution only in accordance with the following restrictions.
  39.  
  40. ASP Approved Vendors in good standing are hereby given permission to
  41. distribute From Scratch package.  Non-ASP member vendors must request
  42. permission prior to distributing this package.
  43.  
  44. The From Scratch package is defined as containing all the material listed
  45. in the PACKING.LST text file.  If any files listed in the PACKING.LST text
  46. file, or the PACKING.LST file itself, are missing, then the package is not
  47. complete and distribution is forbidden.  Please contact us to obtain a
  48. complete package suitable for distribution.
  49.  
  50. The From Scratch package - including all related program files and
  51. documentation files - CANNOT be modified in any way and must be
  52. distributed as a complete package, without exception.  The PACKING.LST
  53. text file contains a list of all files that are part of the From Scratch
  54. package.
  55.  
  56. Small additions to the package, such as the introductory or installation
  57. batch files used by many shareware disk vendors, are acceptable.
  58.  
  59. No price or other compensation may be charged for the From Scratch
  60. package.  A distribution fee may be charged for the cost of the
  61. diskette, shipping and handling, as long as the total (per disk) does
  62. not exceed US$8.00 in the U.S. and Canada, or US$12.00 internationally.

  64. Disk Sets & CD-ROMs:
  65. --------------------
  66. The From Scratch package CANNOT be sold as part of some other inclusive
  67. package.  Nor can it be included in any commercial software packaging
  68. offer, without a written agreement from Desktop Solutions.
  69.  
  70.    ASP Approved Vendors who wish to distribute the From Scratch package
  71.    as part of a collection (such as PsL's MegaDisk set, or a CD-ROM
  72.    package) may do so provided that all the other restrictions are met.
  73.  
  74.    Vendors (non-ASP Vendor Members) who wish to distribute the
  75.    From Scratch package as part of a collection (such as PsL's MegaDisk
  76.    set, or a CD-ROM package) must obtain permission from Desktop Solutions
  77.    prior to beginning such a distribution.
  78.  
  79.    If you wish to add any of our programs to a CD-ROM or other collection,
  80.    please check the release date of the version you have.  If the version
  81.    is over twelve (12) months old then please contact us to ensure that you
  82.    have the most current version.  This version was released in March,
  83.    1993.

  85. Disk-of-the-Month (or Subscription) Distribution:
  86. -------------------------------------------------
  87. If you would like to distribute the From Scratch package as a Disk-of-
  88. the-Month, or as part of a subscription or monthly service, then the
  89. following restrictions apply:

  91.    ASP Associate (Disk Vendor) Members in good standing are hereby given
  92.    permission to distribute the From Scratch package under the Disk-of-
  93.    the-Month style of distribution.
  94.  
  95.    Others (non-ASP Members) must contact us in advance to ensure that you
  96.    have the most current version of the software.
  97.  
  98.    You cannot use a Disk-of-the-Month distribution to use up your inventory
  99.    of old (out of date) disks.  Only current versions may be shipped as
  100.    Disk-of-the-Month disks.
  101.  
  102. The PRINTED User's Guide may not be reproduced in whole or in part, using
  103. any means, without the written permission of Desktop Solutions.  In other
  104. words, the disk-based documentation may not be distributed in PRINTED
  105. (hardcopy) form.
  106.  
  107. The From Scratch package cannot be "rented" or "leased" to others.
  108.  
  109. You may not list any of our shareware products in advertisements,
  110. catalogs, or other literature which describes our products as "FREE
  111. SOFTWARE".  Shareware is "Try-Before-You-Buy" software, it is not free.
  112.  
  113. Desktop Solutions prohibits the distribution of outdated versions of the
  114. From Scratch package, without written permission from Desktop Solutions.
  115. If the version you have is over twelve (12) months old, please contact us
  116. to ensure that you have the most current version.  This version was
  117. released in June, 1993
  118.  
  119. Licensee shall not use, copy, rent, lease, sell, modify, decompile,
  120. disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, or transfer the licensed program
  121. except as provided in this agreement.  Any such unauthorized use shall
  122. result in immediate and automatic termination of this license.
  123.  
  124. U.S. Government Information:  Use, duplication, or disclosure by the U.S.
  125. Government of the computer software and documentation in this package shall
  126. be subject to the restricted rights applicable to commercial computer
  127. software as set forth in subdivision (b)(3)(ii) of the Rights in Technical
  128. Data and Computer Software clause at 252.227-7013 (DFARS 52.227-7013).  The
